How to Select a Room at the Turtle Bay Resort in Oahu, Hawaii

Jul 22, 2009 06:55 PM

The Turtle Bay Resort is the hotel featured on the TV show "The North Shore." By following these instructions you can get the best room at the hotel and feel like a star of your very own prime time soap opera on the beach.

Understand that the hotel has South, East and West Wings. As the hotel is on a small peninsula, almost all rooms have ocean views, however some rooms have better views than others.

Recognize that the hotel has 6 stories. The rooms higher up on the 5th and 6th floors will be farther from the noise of the children's pool.

Choose a room in the South Wing facing the pool if you want the best views of the surf break, the sunset, and Turtle Bay.

Choose an ocean facing high floor room in the East Wing furthest from the elevators if you want an unobstructed view of the Pacific Ocean. Guests in these rooms will also enjoy the highest odds of viewing a whale.

Accept that the rooms in the hotel that face the snorkeling area and the Turtle Bay Villas offer inferior views. In addition, these rooms have smaller decks than the rooms that face the pool or the ocean.

Tips

  • The Turtle Bay Resort is also known as the Turtle Bay Hotel and by it's old name the Turtle Bay Hilton. It is the only luxury hotel on Oahu's North Shore.
  • The South Wing offers the best mobile phone reception if you plan on using your phone while on vacation.
