How to Pack for Florida

Traveling to Florida? Not exactly sure what to bring? Well read on and by the end you'll have a well stocked suit case

Get a reasonable sized suitcase (one that fits the things you will need for how long you will be staying.)

Figure out some of the activities you will be doing, so you know what you should take with you.

Check the weather! the most important thing. Because if you don't you have nothing to pack around. And always be prepared, if it says its going to be sunny, still bring jackets and things for just in case it rains. A good umbrella and/or raincoat is a must.

Bring layers. For much of the year, Florida is pretty warm, but it can get chilly at night, especially during the winter months. In the summer, all you will need is a windbreaker, preferably unlined. In the fall/winter, bring a sweater to layer underneath the windbreaker.

Pants; shorts, skirts, Capri's, maybe jeans.

Bathing suits, bring at least two or more depending on how long you're planning to go (Two in case you want to go swimming twice in the same day and don't like changing into a cold, wet, bathing suit)

camera.

Tips

  • A good sun hat is a must in Florida!
  • Keep in mind that in Florida, "winter" weather doesn't really start until October at the earliest.

Warnings

  • Don't forget the sunscreen! Spray-on sunscreen is convenient, but be very careful when applying in windy or even breezy weather. Spray it into your hand and then apply!
